The pieces are most often made using a combination of metals, sterling silver, fine silver, 18k and 24k. The gemstones that are used in the pieces are selected for the qualities that are attributed to them. Some of the necklace talismans are double sided and inscribed on the inside with the essential qualities that are particular to the glyphs in the piece. A hidden clapper is suspended from the bail - which creates a light bell sound, hence becoming a sound activated Mayan talisman.
